How reliable are these trucks? Thinking of getting one for son but not sure on the reliability? Thanks

GM sells a LOT of 2.7L, they have been one of their more reliable engines. The worst I've heard is them having some oil burn later in life (100k), but they don't all have it. There have been some issues here and there but, overall they seem more reliable than many of their other offerings IMO. They sell a LOT of 2.7L and it has been out over 5 years now....that's a pretty good track record.
