I knew it'd be just a matter of time. Under the circumstances, as I think I understand them, this is overdue? Morgan & Morgan has begun soliciting clients.

Perhaps Morgan & Morgan aren't the first, but this is the first client solicitation I've seen.

Yeah I would imagine there will be more to come, transmission and engine/powertrain lawsuits. GM is going to take a big financial hit for their cost cutting measures.

Has the issue been resolved? I know GM is still using the 10-speed, but if I am looking for a 7.3 with the 10-speed, how can I be sure not to get one of these transmissions?

The valve body issue is hit or miss. In my interviews with Nate from NextGen drivetrain he describes the problems with the design and metals used in the valve bodies being sub-par. The 10 speed in general, especially for the HD trucks is a decently built transmission, the valve body tends to cause all of the issues. There are upgrade paths for that, mostly through NextGen drivetrain ($1500 or so).

Many people do not have issues, but those that do it's a big hassle. Ford tends to get their customers back on the road faster than GM as they seem to have valve body parts readily available, where many GM customers wait weeks.
