Hello everyone, cheers from Colorado. I am a die hard Toyota customer with my last 3 vehicles being loyal to that company. I am looking to trade up out of a Tacoma into something larger and initially chose the tundra (because of brand loyalty, always held Toyota high in regard because of longevity and quality products in the past.) I am blown away (no pun intended), at the issues plaguing the new tundras. I watched a few of The Car Guys videos and how he intimately went with the rebel I believe and the hurricane engine. . . I wanted to know thoughts on the warlock model with the hurricane setup as it is comfortably in my price range trading in the Tacoma. I never thought I’d leave Toyota but the issues are too big to overlook. How is the powertrain on the new warlocks with that set up? Thank you everyone for your time.

The powertrain is going to be identical to the rebel really no difference. The differences you will see are with the lack of dual climate control, and a smaller screen, sound system, and other creature comforts like the seats, etc. The warlock is an awesome truck for the money and has all of the hardware and powertrain that the rebel has.

I would go drive one and see what you think!

I agree with you on Toyota’s quality issues. We just drove a Tacoma the other day for a video and I was shocked at how cheap the seats feel. I really wanted to love all of the new Toyotas and I’ve been a Toyota fan for the past decade, but it’s really tough to overlook the cost cutting. I still like a lot of the old Toyotas, but the new stuff is questionable.
